I am going off prompt again as writing a parody or satire based on a famous poem is not for me.
So my poem for today came from a memory instead.
The Doe
If I had not stopped to watch
the deer
I would not have seen her fawn.
With silver tears in its eyes,
it looked at me hypnotised.
Gently, I blew a kiss to land
like a feather upon
its sweet head.
And if I had not turned
my gaze back to the doe
I would not have witnessed
a trust so pure it made
me cry.
I love the image, especially the feather.
Enjoy your weekend!
